Sunny DeRosal EP Cover

Created for music artist Sunny De Rosal, this was a cover for a previously released demo released in 2021. Being one of the first demo’s of his released publicly, many discussions revolved around the accumulation of Sunny’s musical journey up until this release. In addition, Sunny’s journey had now been entering a new reality with the decision of taking music seriously as a potential career path instead of just a hobby. With these two concepts in mind, many interpretations of these ideas had been created before going back to where many (visual) artists start: traditional art. Utilizing graphite, color pencils, paper and a scanner; the official cover had been created. A homage to our roots and hardships as artists, represented by scanned images and the roughness in which they were scanned, provide as the backdrop to an illustration of Sunny De Rosal. Communicating that, his hard work and dedication to music as a hobby shaped his present identity as a musician.
